Job Summary
Responsible for project and implementation management of Global, Regional and Country specific CDS technology projects. Works as a highest Level PM or as a functional coordinator on larger scale projects as dictated by the matrix of the individual projects and Scope.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE • Oversee and participate in CDS implementation projects • Track and report on status of CDS projects • Create and maintain communication plan for the CDS department and the field • Monitor, track and report on metric performance for the department • Accountable for project deadlines and deliverable for CDS projects • Facilitate and attend meetings/conference calls with internal and external clients • Coordinate collection and distribution of required implementation data • Identify potential risks associated with projects • Leverage Global resources as necessary • Identify and communicate elements which are in and or out of scope for department projects • Interact with internal and technology teams on a regional and or Global level • Monitor project cost for budget tracking • Planning complex multi-departmental projects with internal and external stakeholders • Excellent communication skills utilizing various media
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Transferable Skills (Competencies) • Thorough knowledge of travel agency, operations and industry • Capable of problem solving, anticipating, initiating and resolving customer, vendor and account issues • Capable of working in a team environment, supporting management and staff, following policies, providing feedback, assisting in special projects and taking on additional responsibilities • Able to respond to change; able to be flexible and work with ambiguity • Strong analytical skills • Ability to work independently, developing strategies an action plans and implementing goals and objectives • Ability to work in a virtual environment • Ability to be concise • Ability to articulate opportunities and risks • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Professional manner and appearance
Qualifications • Demonstrated project management leadership in complex multi-departmental projects • PMI or Six Sigma certifications preferred • Proficient use of project management software and processes • 5 years minimum experience in the travel industry, including agency operations, account and or technical management • Proficient using Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio • Technical project management experience preferred • Technical writing skills preferred • Thorough understanding of BCD Travel front-mid and back office processes • Thorough understanding of BCD Travel client reporting offerings • Strong people management and leadership skills • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently • Strong problem solving skills and process reengineering skills • Experience working within an international environment preferred • Ability to work weekends and nights when necessary • Ability to travel globally as needed
